Nike+ iPod Nano and iPod Touch

November 3rd, 2008

Nike and Apple have teamed up to offer a running kit that will track your running stats through an iPod Nano and now the iPod Touch. Soon to come will be the Nike+ capability on the iPhone and iPhone 3G. The kit from Nike is $29.00 and then you need to own a pair of Nike+ shoes or buy the shoe pouch that attaches to any shoe. Learn all about the capabilities here. I’ve been using the product for a while now and love it.

Boxee.TV

October 24th, 2008

I came across a great website for Mac owners today. It’s called Boxee. It allows you to stream online TV shows and movies right through your Mac or Apple TV. The service is in beta form right now and is free to use. You’ll need to sign up on the site and wait for a spot or you can find someone who is already a user and ask them to invite you to join. I tried out the service on a Macbook Pro and a 42″ LCD HD
TV. The picture quality was great and the speed was fantastic.

Check out Boxee’s product overview video:

quick intro to boxee from boxee on Vimeo.

***November 3, 2008 Update***

I realized over this past weekend that Boxee disables Apple’s Front Row program. I don’t like that.

October 21st, 2008

Ever wonder how fast your Intenet connection really is? Speakeasy offers a great free tool to test just how fast of a connection you actually have. My home Internet connection was actually higher than what my ISP advertises.

R.I.P - Paul Newman - Real-Life Hero and Icon

September 28th, 2008

People.com reports:

Paul Newman, a screen hero for more than half a century and the head of a philanthropic food empire for the past 25 years, has died, it was announced Saturday. He was 83.

It’s a very sad piece of news for many admirers of Mr. Newman. I always enjoyed his roles in films and the efforts he made through charity, especially The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp.
